After the worldwide success of “Touching the Edge of the Universe”, the European full dome planetarium show has now been made available for small education domes at very low licensing fees. It is tailored for the small domes’ equipment and comes in 1K (1024/1024) mpg-2 and stereo sound.
The show “Touching the Edge” is a perfect tool for teachers for making the electromagnetic spectrum EMS understood in the classroom. Imagine how difficult it is to explain invisible light! As it spreads out a million times farther than the visible light, a planetarium dome is the perfect screen to show it on. Reaching out to 360 degrees, the range of visible and invisible light not only becomes obvious, but also impressive - and catches the attention of any student.
“That’s thrilling physics”, says the project manager Adam Majorosi, who has sketched the story of the full dome planetarium show. It aims at an audience as from the age of 12 and tells the story of two spacecraft blasting off into space, discovering the invisible birth of stars and the oldest light in the Universe. With the latest cinema technology, “Touching the Edge” becomes an exciting journey into modern astronomy and latest space technology, and an initial starter for people’s interest in natural sciences.
